When will TNPSC Group 2 release 2022 results?

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) exam is a state-level exam aimed at recruiting employees for Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 services for the Tamil Nadu government. The TNPSC exam is held once a year and has levels, i.e., preliminary, main, and an oral test (interview). The exam is 3 hours long and is conducted in offline mode. There are around 120 centers for the TNPSC Group 2 exam prelims and 15 centers for Group 2 mains category. There are around 5208 vacancies in the TNPSC Group 2 and Group 2A categories 

To be able to appear in the group 2 mains exam, a candidate needs to first pass the prelims and then they can move forward with the whole recruiting process. For further details regarding the TNPSC Group 2 result, the candidates can check the official website for details. 

TNPSC Group 2 result notification: 

The TNPSC Group 2 exam on the preliminary level was held on 21 May 2022. The answer key for the prelims was released on the 27th of May, 2022. The result of the preliminary exam will be announced probably during the first week of November.

The TNPSC Exam Timeline 

TNPSC exam is conducted by the public service commission in Tamil Nadu. The role of the commission is to recruit employees in the civil sector by conducting various types of exams throughout the year. TNPSC Group 2 exam is one such exam. 

The notification for the date sheet for the preliminary exams was released on the 23rd of February, 2022 and the last date for submission of the application form was the 23rd of March, 2022. The admit card for the preliminary exam was released on the 11th of May, 2022 and the exam was held on the 21st of May, 2022. The TNPSC Group 2 result will be announced on the official website during the first week of November. If the candidate passes the preliminary exam, only then can they appear for the TNPSC Group 2 main exam. The main exam is likely to happen in December 2022. For Group 2, after qualifying for the mains exam, the next step is appearing for an oral test/ interview. The oral test is expected to be conducted in March of next year. 

TNPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria: 

To be able to appear for the TNPSC Group 2 exam, a candidate needs to pass certain criteria. The eligibility criteria for appearing in the TNPSC exam are mentioned below:

  • There is a certain age limit, within which a candidate can apply for the exam. The minimum age to appear for the exam is 18 and the maximum is 30 years for the general category. But in the case of the reserved category, there is no such limit. 
  • While different jobs that fall under the TNPSC Group 2 posts require different qualifications, being a graduate is the minimum standard that a candidate has to pass.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern and Syllabus: 

To crack any exam, one must be familiar with the pattern of the exam as well as the syllabus of the exam. There are three stages in the TNPSC Group 2 Exam: preliminary exam, main exam and oral exam. However, the last stage does not apply to the TNPSC Group 2A posts. The preliminary stage exam is 3 hours long and is in MCQ format. With each question, 4 options are provided. The weightage of the exam is 300 marks. The main exam consists of 2 descriptive exams and the total weightage of the exam is 400 marks. The interview stage helps the TNPSC judge a candidate’s personality. 

The syllabus for the prelims exam and the main exam differs. There are 2 sections in the prelims exam, i.e., General Awareness, and Aptitude and Mental Ability. There are 175 questions in the General Awareness section, and 25 questions in the Aptitude and Mental Ability. Main exams have 2 parts and the syllabus for part A is translating Tamil to English and vice versa. Part B consists of letter writing, comprehension, essay writing and hint development.

The TNPSC Group 2 and 2A Posts: 

The TNPSC has announced 5208 vacancies. These posts are divided into 2 groups i.e., Group 2 and Group 2A. The TNPSC Group 2 requires a candidate to give an oral test/ interview to be eligible for the job while Group 2A doesn’t have to go through the process of an interview. Some of the posts in the Group A/Interview Posts are Special Branch Assistant, Junior Employment Officer, Probation Officer and Sub Registrar Grade-II. 

Some of the Grade 2A/Non-interview Posts are Audit Inspector, Assistant Revenue, Senior Inspector of Co-operative Societies, and Assistant Section Officer Law Department.

  • Go to the official website.
  • Click the ‘results’ section.
  • Enter your registration number and other details like D.O.B, and Hall ticket number.
  • Download the TNPSC Group 2 result.
